artist statement
My artwork dives into memories of grief, love, and self-discovery. These themes are rendered through dreamy color schemes, symbolic florals, and evocative collage cut-outs.
Drawing on pop art and surrealist styles, I depict my memories not as they actually look but as they truly feel. These emotions take vivid form in my mind before they reach paper: I see the color of a feeling, the place where it lives, and the texture of the world around it. Pieces of that imagery are often sparked by a line in a song, a passage from a book, or a moment from recent travel.
My process balances the soft fluidity of watercolor with the sharp lines of ink and collage to express complex feelings with the details that suit them.

This series explores a diary of dualities throughout my 30th year. My watercolor journals paint the scenes of things I’d chosen for myself and others I couldn’t control. I explored complicated emotions with unexpected lyric pairings, inspired by Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour surprise songs. Each piece reveals a moment somewhere between fear and security, fantasy and reality, new love and old wounds.

Inspired by Taylor Swift's journey to rerecord and reclaim her music catalogue, I painted a series of symbolic flowers to reclaim defining moments in my own life. Paired with spliced lyrics from Taylor Swift songs across different eras, each Collection allows the viewer to process one part of the story at a time, from innocence to infidelity and finally letting go.
