Chelsea is a mixed-media watercolor artist and design leader based in Brooklyn, NY. She has over 10 years of experience designing products that empower creative work. Currently, Brown is a Principal Designer for Creator Tools and Design Systems at TEGNA, a local broadcast company serving 56 markets across the county. Throughout her career, she has facilitated collaborative workshops to improve newsroom workflows and shaped the user experience of self-service analytics for reporters.
Prior to TEGNA, Brown led design strategy for Creator Tools at The Washington Post, documented delivery journeys at Vroom, and created an atomic design system for McClatchy's 30 local news sites.
In her design career and art practice, Brown's creative process and leadership style encompasses a strong focus on research, systems thinking, and creative transformation.
Brown's artwork explores memory, love, and grief through dreamy color schemes, imagined landscapes, and symbolic florals. She has participated in group exhibitions at Gowanus Open Studios since 2022, and in 2023, presented a solo showcase of her series, A Diary of Dualities.
In her down time, she loves yoga, fantasy novels, beach trips, and playing with her chihuahua mix, Cleo.
